Windows XP died on April 8, 2014, when support ended. It was 12 and still at work.

Many of its machines are, too. Some of them run cash machines. This desk prefers not to know which.

Its green hill was the most-seen photograph in history, and almost nobody knows who took it.

It is survived by every office that said they would upgrade next quarter.
