Google Wave

Google Wave died on April 30, 2012. It was two, and had been read-only since January.

It was email, chat and a document at once. Nobody could explain it, including at its own launch.

Invitations were so scarce that people begged for them, then logged in once, looked around, and left.

Its parts were reused in other products, which is the closest this industry comes to organ donation.
