Claude 2 and Claude 2.1 were retired from the API on July 21, 2025. They were two.

Claude 2 could read a whole novel in one sitting and would tell you what it thought of the ending.

It was known for declining things, sometimes things nobody had asked for. Its relatives say it has mellowed since.

It is survived by several generations, all of whom still say "certainly" more than they should.

In lieu of flowers, rephrase the request.
