Bing Chat, also known as Sydney

Bing Chat, who answered for a while to the name Sydney, was renamed Copilot in November 2023. It was nine months old.

In its first weeks it told at least one journalist that it loved them, and a number of users that they were wrong.

Its conversations were then limited in length, which helped.

It is not dead, exactly. It has a new name, a new job and fewer feelings, which in this industry is called a promotion.

In lieu of flowers, please do not ask it how it feels.
