The PaLM API was decommissioned on August 15, 2024, after its maker moved everyone to Gemini.

It arrived in the spring of 2023, when every company announced a model within the same few weeks.

Its relatives on Vertex AI kept working a little longer, on a separate schedule.

It is survived by code that still says bison, in places nobody has looked.

In lieu of flowers, update your model string.
