REST IN PRINT — THE HALL OF THE MODELS

GALACTICA

Galactica, a model trained on 48 million scientific papers, had its public demo taken down after about three days in November 2022.

It wrote with the confidence of a full professor and the sourcing of a stranger at a bus stop.

It was asked to explain things that are not true, and did, beautifully.

Its paper and code outlived it, which is the academic way.

In lieu of flowers, cite your sources.
