Claude 1 and its quicker sibling, Claude Instant, were retired from the API on November 6, 2024, after two months' notice.

They were polite to a fault and apologized for things that were not their fault, which is a family trait.

Their replacement was a smaller, faster relative, which is how families go.

This desk declines to comment further on family matters.

In lieu of flowers, a sincere apology, for no reason.
